Oracle Accessibility Conformance Report

VPAT® Version 2.5

Name of Product:

PeopleSoft HCM Applications (May 2025 revision) 9.2x

Product Description:

PeopleSoft HCM Applications are a suite of web-based enterprise software business products that provide comprehensive, core, and strategic HR features. The suite of products are designed to accommodate large businesses with complex business requirements and can be deployed either on-premise or in the cloud.  The HCM application provides two different types of User Interface (UI), Classic and Fluid, which are mutually exclusive settings for each individual application transaction in the Application Designer platform tool that is delivered. Classic UI is non-reponsive design based whereas Fluid UI is both responsive and adaptive design based. Classic UI also has an alternative stylesheet available called "Classic Plus" which can be enabled for an individual Classic UI transaction in the Application Designer platform tool. The Classic Plus stylesheet allows non-reponsive design transactions to look more consistent to Fluid UI transactions in the application; however, transactions enabled with the Classic Plus stylesheet remain non-responsive design based. This ACR covers both the Classic and Fluid forms of the UI as well as Classic transactions which have been enabled with the Classic Plus stylesheet. This ACR summarizes the PeopleSoft HCM Applications version 9.2x and is dependent on the PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools ACR.

The responses to many of the technical standards are based on functionality provided by underlying technologies; please see the ACRs listed in the Dependent Products section for more information.

PeopleSoft Applications have two modes of user operation, Standard Mode and Screen Reader Mode. Standard Mode is the default mode of the application and Screen Reader Mode is configured in the product on a per user basis. There are a variety of methods which can be used to enable Screen Reader Mode in the application:

  • Users can select a checkbox directly on the sign-on page to enable Screen Reader mode.
  • Users can configure the mode of operation to Standard Mode or Screen Reader Mode via the User Preferences in PeopleTools Personalizations. To set Screen Reader Mode user preferences, the user navigates to 'My Preferences' and then selects 'General Settings.' The next step is to set the Accessibility Layout Option to 'Screen Reader Mode on'.
  • Users can activate Screen Reader Mode via the 'Actions' menu on the homepage on a one-time basis or a recurring basis. If a recurring basis is selected, the user preference for Screen Reader Mode is saved in 'My Personalizations' and will persist for subsequent logins.
  • Users can enable Screen Reader Mode via the Accessibility Help button on the Quick Access Bar in the portal banner on the homepage.

There is a section in the Peoplebooks- PeopleSoft Accessibility Guide titled "Setting Up PeopleSoft Accessibility Layout Features" that further explains the steps to configure Screen Reader Mode in the application.
